What is Baptism?
Baptism is a picture of our love for Jesus and our decision to follow and obey Him.
Baptism is a symbol of what happened when we asked Jesus to be our Forever Friend. Jesus came into our life, forgave all our sins and made us clean again. When we’re baptized, we see a picture of all our sins being washed away in the water so that we can live a brand new life with Jesus.

2011 In-Service Baptism Dates: October 29-30, 2011
SAFARI Kids ministers to children ages three months through twelve years. Children who are interested in pursuing baptism or communion must attend this class together with at least one parent or guardian, though it is preferable for both parents to participate when possible. Although there is not a maximum age required, the three-hour class is created for elementary-aged children and is structured in such a way that the participants must be able to read and listen for a sustained period, as well as articulate their own decision making process regarding their faith in Christ.
Many churches encourage parents to baptize their children as infants and though we believe the intent of this practice is completely honorable, ALCF does not find Scriptural support for the baptizing of infants. Therefore, ALCF chooses to baptize only those who have expressed personal faith in Jesus Christ as Savior. ALCF does offer a Dedication service to all parents interested in dedicating their child in lieu of infant baptism.
During the baptism service, the parent(s) or guardian(s) will baptize their child with the assistance of an Associate Pastor. Prior to each baptism, the child’s short video testimony will play on the screen. The parent will then have the opportunity to introduce their child to the congregation and share a few words of blessing prior to baptizing their child. The entire event will be recorded on video and a copy of the DVD and any photos will be sent home to the families with their Certificate of Baptism to be included in their “Walk like Jesus” scrapbook.
